Join us for the morning of February 1st for 2.5 hours of BFTS training as you plan for a great year of professional development ahead!

This conference is FREE for teachers of Center Plus Members and for Individual Teacher Members of GCCA.

Check with your administration to determine whether your center is a Center or Center Plus Member of GCCA before registering:

  • Center Plus Members can add their teachers to their school profile to register for this training at no additional cost-follow these easy steps for updating your teacher profile
  • Individual Teacher Members can log in to register at no cost as well
  • Center Members or nonmembers can register for just $40 for this great back to school information!

Saturday, Feb. 1st: Creating Cultural Connections in the Classroom 

This session fosters cultural awareness and inclusivity, guiding teachers to create classrooms that respect and celebrate diversity.

  • 1-Hour General Session: Building a Culturally Responsive Classroom

    • Overview of cultural competence.

    • Practical strategies to integrate diverse perspectives into daily routines and learning materials.

  • Infant/Toddler Breakout (1.5 Hours): Nurturing Cultural Awareness in Our Youngest Learners

    • Using multicultural songs, stories, and play to introduce diversity.

    • Techniques for respectful family communication and inclusion.

  • Preschool/Pre-K Breakout (1.5 Hours): Promoting Cultural Literacy in Early Childhood

    • Activities for encouraging self-expression and respect for differences.

    • Tools for incorporating multicultural stories and events into the curriculum.
