GCCA Day at the Capitol: A Powerful Day of Advocacy!

Childcare providers from across Georgia came together for an unforgettable experience at the Georgia Child Care Association’s very first advocacy day! The energy was electric as attendees kicked off the day with breakfast at the State Capitol, where they heard directly from legislators and DECAL staff. Later, they took action—“working the ropes” to engage face-to-face with their House and Senate representatives, making their voices heard. A special highlight was Lt. Governor Burt Jones’s recognition of our industry’s vital role and his acknowledgment that increased state investments are crucial to ensuring access to top-quality childcare programs.

A HUGE THANK YOU to the more than 85 dedicated ECE advocates—owners, operators, lobbyists, legislators, and more—who showed up and made this day wildly successful! Your passion and commitment are driving real change for the future of childcare in Georgia.

This was just the beginning! If you missed out, don’t worry—plans are already in motion for 2026, and you won’t want to miss this opportunity to make an impact. Mark your calendars and get ready to stand up for the future of childcare in Georgia!
