Dear GCCA Member,
The Georgia Child Care Association exists to enhance, support, and promote quality in the licensed early learning child care industry. We exist for our members and for the children of Georgia, through expanded professional development, targeted advocacy, public awareness, and partnerships with community leadership. Henry Ford once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.” In 1977, innovative leaders came together, creating GCCA, forming a foundation of hope for Georgia’s child care industry. In a grassroots fashion, they built a like-minded network gaining credibility with lawmakers and local communities. They laid the groundwork advocating for the need of business owners, communicating the importance of high-quality standards, and educating legislators on the importance of a child’s early learning education. Over the last 40 years, it has been their progress keeping us together, fueling a rich pipeline of talent to ensure a sustainable future for the early education industry.
This year, 2017, our focus is GROWTH – growth in the areas of training, impact, and membership. As your GCCA President, I challenge you to advocate for your business and staff by attending Owner Conferences and trainings via our education tracks – Lead, Innovate, Grow; being “in the know” and compliant positions your center for success. I challenge you to communicate your needs by getting involved in GCCA focus groups; being active creates a space for positive change and successful legislative impact. I challenge you to educate your peer colleagues and teachers on the importance of becoming a member of GCCA; belonging to a like-minded community unites our voice and increases our ability to succeed as a whole.
It is with gratitude and honor that I serve as your 2017 GCCA President and I look forward to an exciting and abundant year!
